Commitment to Academics

Here at Zeta Theta we take academics very seriously. Since our start at Oneonta a little over three years ago, we have maintained a cumulative Grade Point Average above the all mens GPA for the college. What allows us to maintain this high academic status is our strong scholarship program.

Our scholarship program has three basic parts:

• All fully initiated brothers participate in a required number of library hours per week depending on current GPA. The hours are checked and approved by our Scholarship Chair.

• All new members a required to spend a minimum of eight hours a week in the library for the duration of the new member process.

• The New Member Educator also collects all the new members' syllabi and reviews them for important dates such as tests and projects. Library hours are then adjusted to allow more time for schoolwork when needed.

We have a mentor program between our older members and our younger members. We team up an upper classmen and a younger member with the same major so the upper classmen can act as a guide and help make good academic decisions. We believe that one of the best tools is experience. Juniors and Seniors have taken many classes with several different professors. They can share the experiences they have had with younger members and let them know which professors they did or did not like, which classes are the best to take, what order classes should be taken in and help our younger members study for classes.
